राजस्थान माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड की स्थापना सन् 1957 में राजस्थान माध्यमिक शिक्षा अधिनियम की घोषणा के साथ हुई थी। यह बोर्ड 4 दिंसबर 1957 को जयपुर में स्थापित किया गया था। इसे सन् 1961 में अजमेर में स्थानांतारित कर दिया गया था। वर्ष 1973 में यह बोर्ड सभी सुविधाओं युक्त इमारत में कार्य करने लगा।
